The mission of Eaton School is to create a safe, caring, and positive learning environment which promotes academic excellence, embraces diversity, fosters a sense of self worth and responsibility, and encourages life long learning.

Eaton is committed to providing a challenging education program for all students. Our school motto is 'Learning Today Builds a Successful Tomorrow'. Teachers focus on helping students meet or exceed grade level standards by addressing the diverse needs and learning styles of our students. Intervention support is provided to students who are assessed at-risk, and enrichment activities are provided for those students who exceed standards. All students have access to art, music, and technology programs to enhance learning. Teachers continually articulate about standards-based instruction and best instructional practices. They measure and analyze student performance, and are accountable for improved student achievement and on-going communication with parents. Our staff of educators value professional development, peer coaching, collaboration, and shared planning time to maintain Eaton's quality instructional program.

Working together, our staff members, along with our School Site Council, PTO and Student Council have created an inviting place to be and an inspiring place to learn. They have written a behavior plan that supports positive discipline, stresses responsibility, and promotes mutual respect. Adherence to our discipline plan and zero tolerance for violence, weapons, and drugs contribute to our safe campus. Students demonstrate positive participation in Student Council, buddy classes, Authors of the Month, noon activities, and spirit days. Students and teachers value the high level of parent participation and community support that provide extended opportunities such as our Junior Great Books Program, Enrichment Day, and Art Enrichment.  Eaton's annual family events include an ice cream social, the Walk-a-thon, school carnival,  and numerous musical programs.

Eaton's climate is one of openness and inclusion. Through the PTO, School Site Council, Student Council, websites, and our weekly newsletter, information is distributed and input solicited on important issues that range from piloting a standards based report card, traffic problems, and conflict resolution strategies. We continually invite parents to become active members of our school community.  This year we will be offering our newsletter distribution electronially to those families who wish to particpate.
